Terms of Service
Last updated
These are the rules for using Read-Along. We've kept them short and in plain words.
Who we are
Read-Along (https://read-along.woodstockdaily.com) is run by Extremevalue, Inc., 1340 Pecan Grove Drive, Diamond Bar, CA 91765, USA ("we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and us. By using Read-Along you agree to them.
The service
Read-Along turns a document you upload (or a link you paste) into a narrated web page that reads itself aloud and highlights each word, and sends you the link when it's ready.
Narration runs on our own computer, so documents wait in line and are only made while it is running. Premium documents are read first.
We may change, pause or stop features. If we stop the service, we'll refund anything you paid for and didn't get.
Your account
You sign in with a code texted to your phone or with a link or code emailed to you. There is no password. Keep access to your phone and email secure; anyone who can read them can sign in as you.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Read-Along. Give us accurate contact details so we can reach you about your account.
Prices and payments
Prices are shown before you pay, in US dollars unless stated. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your full card number.
What paying unlocks: Premium removes the daily limit, and your documents are read before free ones.
- Free use: 1 per day, no card needed.
- Premium monthly: $14.50 per month, renewing automatically until you cancel.
- Premium yearly: $69 per year, renewing automatically until you cancel.
Refunds
If something went wrong, write to us and we'll review your request and reply within a few business days.
Free documents: if narration fails after our automatic retries, that day's free document is given back. Premium: cancel any time from Plan → Manage or cancel. It stays on until the end of the period you paid for, and you aren't charged again.
The full refund policy is at https://read-along.woodstockdaily.com/refunds.
- Voice Wish ($99): we ask the creator for written consent to use their voice. If they decline, or don't reply within 30 days, you get a full refund to the card you paid with. We never clone a voice without that consent and a licence, and we don't promise a delivery date.
Text messages (Read-Along progress texts)
Read-Along progress texts: texts with progress updates while your document is being narrated, and the link when it's ready.
How often: every 5 minutes while a document is being made, about 3-6 texts per document. Message and data rates may apply.
Saying yes is optional and is never a condition of buying anything. You agree by ticking the box, which shows this wording:
"Text me progress updates while my document is being narrated (every 5 minutes, about 3-6 texts per document). Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
To stop, reply STOP to any message; you'll get one text confirming you're unsubscribed and no more after that. For help, reply HELP or email readalong@woodstockdaily.com.
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Sign-in codes sent by text are part of signing in, not this program, and are only sent when you ask for one.
What you upload
You keep ownership of what you upload. You give us permission to store, copy and process it only as needed to provide the service to you (for example, to read it and make the result you asked for).
Only upload things you have the right to use. Don't upload anything illegal, anyone else's private information without permission, or material that infringes someone's copyright.
- Upload only documents you own or have permission to have read aloud for your own use.
Fair use
Don't misuse the service: no attempts to break in, overload it, get around limits or payments, scrape it, or use it to send spam. We may suspend accounts that do, and refund anything unused.
No guarantees
Read-Along is provided "as is". We work hard to get things right, but results (including anything produced by AI or text-to-speech) may contain mistakes, and the service may sometimes be unavailable. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, Extremevalue, Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that can't be waived.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters, we'll say so on the site or by email before it takes effect.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. If we have a dispute, please contact us first; most problems can be fixed quickly.
